Blizzard 2014
As many of you know....or are experiencing right now....there is a major storm going on in Indiana right now. Lots of snow, negative temps and major wind. I'm not sure if it's a true blizzard or not, but it's close, that's for sure.
The entire state is pretty much on pause until this is over. So, while is freezing outside....we are cozy and warm inside. And since we are given the chance to pause for a day or so, it gives a nice time to slow down. It also gives us a chance to be grateful.
Here is a list of things I'm grateful for on this snowy day!
-our furnace is working....while it's not as warm as I would like inside our house, its not cold...that's for sure!
-we have electricity. there are so many here in the city that don't have electricity...and with these temps, things get cold really fast. i hope that electricity gets restored soon for those who don't have it.
-that we have a snow blower....that was given to us. it was really nice that nolan didn't have to spend too much time outdoors yesterday getting the snow off the drive and I didn't have to get out there and help him shovel :)
-we have a stocked pantry and refrigerator. we were able to go to the store before the storm hit! since i took the time to plan enough meals for the week, we shouldn't need to get anything for a while. we may need to make a milk run tomorrow, but hopefully by then it will be safe enough to drive.
-that i get to spend more time with my girls! yea!
-that nolan has a job that he can work from home. he doesn't have to use any personal time today and he also doesn't have to leave the house. it would be nice just have to have him hanging out with us here in the house, but that's ok :)
-we have a car with 4 wheel drive. if we did need to get out in this mess for an emergency, our car could handle it :)
So, while you all are stuck at home today, take a moment to remember all the reasons why you are grateful.
