2013 In Review

I suppose you are wondering what I was up to this year....and if you haven't kept up with these posts, then you don't know. Well, lucky for you, I'm going to share with you some of the best moments of 2013. You're pumped now, aren't you????

January......
Georgia and I went to Disney on Ice. This was the first time that she had been to something like that before. She loved it and I loved sharing this time with her.

February.......
On the 11th we celebrated Nolan's 33 years on this planet

what a handsome devil

Valentine's Day! We try to take the girls out for a romantic dinner and watch a lovey dovey cartoon. We went to our traditional place, Buca di Beppo's and had a great dinner.

my funny valentine's!

I also made Georgia's Valentine's for her class....

We had an ice storm here in Indy....

March......
Georgia had her first play at school...it was Old McDonald. Very cute!

We had a snow storm at the beginning of Georgia's spring break....weird weather!

this big pregnant robin wasn't sure what to do with all this snow!

We took our first long road trip with the twins to Nolan's parent's house in Newton, Kansas. We left right after this snow storm. What is normally an 11 hour drive took us about 13. We knew it was going to take us longer than normal.....stopping every two hours for bathroom breaks and to change diapers, longer stops for meals, and stopping to breast feed. We decided before we left that we were going to TRY to do the trip in one day, but we reserved the right to stop for the night if needed. All three of the girls were champs and we made it just fine!

We spent our time in Kansas.....

Going on a day trip to Wichita

We stopped by the Nifty Nut House to get some yummy treats!

Visiting with friends who also have twins!

Spending time outdoors.

And spending time with family!

And Easter.....

I also photographed some Easter mini sessions for the first time....for the most part they went well. The weather was a little difficult.....but for those that made it out, I was able to get some good shots.

April.....

Not much happened....spring happened I guess!

May......

In addition to piano and swimming, Georgia added soccer to her after school activities. May was busy during the week!!!!

We said goodbye to our beloved Toyota Corolla and hello to a Toyota Prius.

MOTHER'S DAY

We made our summer bucket list.

June....

We made our summer READING list.

Georgia finished up Kindergarten

kindergarten graduation and the last day of school

Grandma and Grandpa Lichti came for a visit all the way from Kansas.

And then we all went to South Haven, MI. We rented a house near the lake. It was AWESOME!

Brenda and Sarah even joined us for a day.

Father's Day

July.....

July was hot! We were able to have some fun though.....

Watching fireworks

Gardening

Going to Symphony on the Prairie with friends

Dragging our kids to baseball games

And road trips to Cincinnati

And at the end of July, Georgia started back to school. This time, a big first grader!

August.....

August is the month of birthdays in our house. It all starts with......

Georgia turning 6

And then a week later the twins turned 1. We had a Thing 1 and Thing 2 birthday party for them.

September.....

We successfully took on the challenge of no fast food for the entire month!

October.......

We started October with my birthday!! Blessed to hit the ripe old age of 34! Happy Birthday to me!

Since October is Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month, I decided something I could do to bring awareness to this is to share the stories of women that I have met. I photographed them and shared their stories here on this blog. Many of the women I knew, some I did not. We are all connected because of our precious little babies that are no longer with us.

Violet's birthday. We spent the day doing 26 acts of kindness all over the city of Indianapolis. We did 26 because I was 26 weeks pregnant with Violet. And it wasn't just us, we asked our friends and family all over to do one act of kindness in Violet's name and to share her story if possible. We had so many people who did this....it was unbelievable!

Halloween....
We had a peacock

and Thing 1 and Thing 2

November.....
We suck around Indy for Thanksgiving this year. We celebrated with family and then went to our annual thanksgiving night movie. This year, we saw Frozen. Good times!

December.....
We started off the month with warm and sunny weather! I was able to sneak in one more photo shoot before things got chilly.

We had family photos taken by Autumn Stockton Photography.

Georgia participated in the children's musical at church, Camelot. She played Jamie Sue, a cowgirl/shepherd. She loved it!

Aunt Brenda came to visit for the weekend. She was able to see Georgia's performance at church and we took her to Christmas at the zoo.

Nolan, Georgia and I did our annual Yuletide Celebration at the Indianapolis Symphony. Fantastic show.

We also took the family and met up with friends at the Indianapolis Children's Museum for Jolly Days. The museum transforms to a winter wonderland.

For Christmas we celebrated with my family here in Indy. A couple of days after the 25th we took off for Buffalo, NY to celebrate with Nolan's family.

christmas at home

In New York we......

Played lots of games

Visited Niagara Falls

Got to see the Ellis family

Saw a beautiful sunset from our front porch.

Went out for pizza.

And it's not a Lichti gathering without a little bowling!

So, that my friends, is our year at a glance.....well maybe a little bit more than a glance. I hope you had a great 2013....we sure did!
