It's The Weekend, Y'all!
It's the weekend people!!! And boy, do we have a busy one around the Fletcher Lichti house. There are so many fun fall/Halloween activities that we want to do, and I guess we are trying to cram everything into one weekend. We'll see if we get it all done!!!
Tonight, after Nolan gets home from work, we are headed to the pumpkin patch. We are going to the patch that I grew up going to and the one Georgia has gone to every year!!! It's tradition. They have a dinosaur that eats pumpkins, they have petting zoo, they have a hay ride to the pumpkin patch. We have a blast. This will be the twins first year going (last year I went with Georgia and her Kindergarten class, so we didn't go as a family). We are excited to get our pumpkins!!!! Let the carving BEGIN!!!
Then on Saturday we are headed out bright and early to The Pleasant Run Run. There is a historic neighborhood near us, Irvington. It's the place Nolan and I dream of moving to one day. We want one of those historic homes....we want to be apart of this tight knit community. Irvington has a Halloween festival every year...in fact this is the 67th year for the festival. The community plans a week long of festivities! There is a house decorating contest, window painting, music events, costume contests, poetry readings, movies, roller derby, ghost tours, a Miss Irvington scholarship contest, pumpkin carving, and then they end the week with The Pleasant Run Run (Pleasant Run is a street that runs through Irvington) and a street festival. So we will be out, bright and early with Georgia and the twins to walk the Pleasant Run Run!! And then afterwards we will hit up the street festival....maybe grab some good food and buy some awesome handmade items at the mini handicraft exchange! One of the best parts is that we are meeting up with our friends Carol and Blair for the walk!!!
After the festival we are headed to the Indianapolis Children's Museum Haunted House. This is the only time we can make it for the "lights on" hours. Georgia's not so sure about going through the house in the dark so this will make it a little less scary!
That evening, I have a photo shoot at a local orchard with our good friends The Clarks! I love photographing them. They are beautiful people inside and out. The orchard is having a little event so it will probably be busy....we'll make it work! :)
Sunday after church and naps we will be headed out, again with the Clarks, to Zoo Boo at the Indianapolis Zoo. This is also a tradition for us. I don't know that we've been every year since Georgia was born, but pretty close!!! It's fun. She loves to dress up and trick or treat at the zoo. And, the Colts have a bye this week so we aren't missing the game!!! I'm not sure about the Bears. We are a split household here.
What Halloween/fall activities are you up to this weekend? Whatever is it you are up to, have a good one!!!!
