2014-year in review

Hey guys! It's been a little bit since I've been on here. I guess because things in life got CRAZY busy. And it was a good busy. I felt like my photography business really took off this year. I kind of felt like a real photographer!!! Yea!!!

So, here's a little review of my year....

January

Remember the blizzard??? Well, it wasn't REALLY a blizzard, but it sure felt like one!

I took a sewing class! It was awesome. I took lessons at The Crimson Tate and I highly recommend it to anyone thinking about learning the craft. And you can read about my sewing here

February

Nolan celebrated 34 years on this earth!

In February we did our annual Valentine's Day Family Date at Bucca di Beppo! What fun to take the girls out for a "fancy" dinner :)

March
Nolan's parents, younger sister and aunt came for a visit! It was great having them all here in our little house! Maybe sometime soon we will have a bigger house for everyone to stay :)

I took a trip with my best gal pals to New Harmony, Indiana! It was a great, relaxing night away!

April

We decided that it was time to say goodbye to our dear Subaru and hello to a Honda! We joined many of the other families with 3+ children and got a mini van. As far as mini vans go, it's pretty nice!

Evie decided it would be a great time to get pneumonia. We did breathing treatments and oral medication. She was much better in a few days. Thank goodness there was no hospital stay!

Georgia was a gold medal winner at her math pentathlon meet!

May

I was able to join Nolan is Northern Ireland for a whirlwind trip! We had a great time and I still have yet to blog about it! Maybe this winter I will tell you all about our trip!

Nolan and I also went to DC for our friend Peter's wedding. We were able to stay an extra couple of days and soak up some of the DC area!!

June

Our family, my parents and my brothers family went to South Haven, Michigan for a long weekend. We did this last year with Nolan's parents and had such a great, relaxing time, that we wanted to go back with my family.
We spent lots of time hanging out on the beach, making meals in our rental house, walking down town, laughing and enjoying each other. It was a great time to be together. I also got to practice taking some beach photos of Georgia and my beautiful nieces!

July

We started off the month with a trip to the Marion County Fair!

In July we enjoyed a trip to Northern Indiana to celebrate Aunt Lois' life. Aunt Lois passed away back in January, but the family decided to get together once all the snow birds made it back to Indiana! We enjoyed time with Nolan's parents and extended family....like Aunt Brenda!

We also made the 12 hour trip out to Kansas to visit Nolan's family and go to a wedding. One of Nolan's friends from high school was getting married. We first went to Edith's, Nolan's younger sister, house in Manhattan, Kansas. The girls stayed with Aunt Edith, Uncle Aaron and cousin Aubrey while mom and dad went to the wedding. DATE NIGHT!!!

as you can see, Evie, June and Aubrey are all the same age!!

Next we headed to Nolan's parent's house in Newton to spend the rest of the week. We were able to go to Botanica, which is a HUGE garden in Wichita, Kansas. They have an amazing children's garden. The girls were able to run and play and have a great time. The rest of the time we spent hanging out with family, reading books, laughing and enjoying each others company and the hot Kansas summer!

Georgia started 2nd grade. She has a male teacher this year. She is loving every minute of it! I know...school starts early around here :)

August

August is birthday central around here.

First of all Georgia turned 7 on Aug 9. How can she be 7 already? And in the second grade?

And a week later, the twins turned 2. How does it all happen so fast?

The twins had a Sesame Street birthday party. It was so much fun!

September

We had Georgia's birthday party for her friends in September. Her birthday is right at the start of the school year, so it gives her a chance to see who is in her class. Of course, this year it had to be FROZEN.

Evelyn and June started preschool at Irvington United Methodist Church...the same place Georgia went. They go three days a week for a couple of hours each day. They love it there!

October

We celebrated Violet's 3rd birthday in heaven on Oct 11,  by doing another day of kindness. We had an amazing turn out thanks to some very special people who shared Violet's story and spread the news of her day of kindness. We were completely blown away by all the act of kindness that went on all over the world!

On Oct 15 is a day of remembrance for all babies who were taken too soon from their families. We lit candles and remembered not only Violet, but all those who we have met along the way who have also lost their precious little ones. We were thinking of you all!

HALLOWEEN! This year Georgia was...what else...Anna from Frozen

And Evelyn and June were Bert and Ernie

November

We stayed in Indianapolis to celebrate Thanksgiving this year....we stick around here most years for Thanksgiving. We were going to get out as a family and do The Drumstick Dash, but it was just too cold to get the girls out and walk. So, we just donated our money...that was good enough!

December

Whew! December is always a busy month! Let's see if I can make this short!

Georgia was in the church Christmas play again this year. She was Tammy the Shepherd! She complained that she is always a shepherd. Maybe next year she can be something different!

Evie and June were angels in their preschool Christmas pageant. But if you ask June if she was an angel she says, "no, i baby Jesus!" and if you ask Evie the same thing she says, "no, i was sad!" Evie says she was sad because she didn't want to be an angel and that made her sad. I have no idea why June thinks she was baby Jesus!

We stuck around here for Christmas day and then headed out the day after to visit with Nolan's family. We met at a lake house in the Lake of the Ozarks. We spent a few days together visiting and playing games.

When we came home, Nolan and I had a belated anniversary celebration (because our anniversary is on 12/27 and we were with his family).

And then it before you knew it, it was 2015 and 2014 was OVER. So that was my year in review. We are all looking forward to 2015!
